More Blessings on the Farm

Hola!

This is Sunday and Monday, days 19 and 20 of my trek in Costa Rica.

Here is Tammy crossing the creaking walk bridge over the river that I was talking about.

A baby lamb was born on Friday afternoon. She was soo soft and such an adorable little baby.

Coconut from the back yard. They have plenty of coconuts around here.

My mom gave Tammy a packet of herbs.

Tammy and I are planting the herbs. 

Tammy taught me how to make deodorant with pharmaceutical

 strength baking soda, thieves, coconut oil and a scent.

Christopher climbed up the tree barefoot. Crazy Kid!!

to back out the car onto the dirt road. The dirt road is too narrow, making it difficult to back out.

The tree is down. Now all three men cutting and chopping up the tree with big knives. 

They have giant knives here in Costa Rica. 

Now the driveway is bigger—easier to get to the road now.

End of Sunday and Monday, days 19 and 20 of my journey in Costa Rica. 

It's been a busy 2 days for me here. The weather has been wonderful here. 

God really blessed us with good weather. Since the weather has been nice,

 I am hoping the bridge will be built soon. Wouldn't that be nice!!! Last I heard 

was that they were working on putting the frame of the bridge together. 

May the Lord bless these people on the Mountains with a bridge soon.

The Fearsome and the Meek...

Hola!

Today we will be covering Thursday and Friday, Days 16 and 17 of my trek of Costa Rica.

I had a terrible day on Day 16. It all started when I first woke up in the morning.

 I turned over and looked outside my window. Behold, there was a huge humongous 

spider on the window. I literally freaked out. What a horrible way to wake up first 

thing in the morning… before my first cup of tea,...uggh!!

I was glad to see that the spider was on the outside of my window.

 Still, I was still freaking out over it.Way too close to my bedroom! I literally dragged

 Tammy away from the kitchen to see this spider to prove that it really was big. 

She's like “you are weird, you are not afraid of snakes but you are of spiders.” 

I'm telling you, this one is BIG!! Later Jesus removed the spider for me, I was relieved!! 

I am having a sick day (literally). Tammy thinks the spider caused the Migraine. 

I forgot to bring my migraine medicine. So here I am resting in bed. Tammy 

dropped off pile of clothes on me to fold while I was in bed. I manged to fold the 

clothes without moving my head. Not a good day for me and my migraine.

Day 17

The storm is moving away later in the morning. Tammy said it rained so hard

 last night that it kept them up during the middle of the nght. Me… I slept like a log. 

There are good things in having a hearing loss. I don't hear the rain or thunder to 

wake me up nor the rooster crowing in the morning. I sleep very well thru the night.

We are making “Challah” bread for Sabbath. 

I am braiding the bread. It's quite easy to do.

 I am putting butter on the “Challah” bread and ready to bake in the oven. 

We will use this bread for Sabbath service tonight.

Here is Christopher on his horse. Doesn't he look good in his hat?! 

He is a handsome young fella. He is a true farmer; works hard on the farm. 

He takes great care of the animals on the farm. 

Tammy on her horse. Tammy has always had love for horses ever since she was a small child. 

Now it's their main transportation on the Mountain.

Tammy, Jesus, and Christopher are heading down to the river, across the rickety 

walk bridge to pickup their car. It was in the shop. They are going to get Luis from

 the hospital. He was in a very bad motorcycle accident. He is ready to leave the

 hospital. It is not possible for him to get on a bus to get home with his leg injury. 

So Jesus went to pick him up to go home.

 Here is Luis's leg. He has pins in his right leg and broke a couple of toes on his left foot.

A baby lamb was born this afternoon. It is such a precious sight to see a new baby 

being born next to the house. Soo adorable. I got to hold the lamb the next day

 (not even 24 hrs old yet). She was soo soft and such an adorable little thing!!

 The Mama sheep didn't mind me holding the lamb.

Friday sunset to Saturday sunset is Sabbath for Tammy and her family. Since Tammy
and Jesus are away at this time, Christian will lead the Sabbath service tonight.

No blog during this time out of respect for the family during their time of Sabbath.

End of the 16^th and 17 days of my trek of Costa Rica. Please continue to pray for

 my well being while I am still here in Costa Rica. May the Lord Jesus continue 

to bless me and I enjoy bringing you the joys of seeing my journey of Costa Rica.

Around the Farm...

Hola!

Today is Tuesday and Wednesday, days 14 and 15 of my journey of Costa Rica.

Look at the ground, it is declining downwards on the Mountain. 

At the back of the house the sheep are using part of the underneath 

of the main house as a shelter for themselves.

The neighbor's bulls have come to visit us.

 The water filter container(Berkey). I am not able to drink water from the sink

 (which comes from the river). I have to drink the water from this water filter container. 

The family here is used to drinking water from the river.

Christian and I are patiently waiting for the pictures to upload on the blog. 

The internet here up on the mountain is very very slow. It can take from 

several minutes to 45 minutes to just upload pictures and then 

several minutes to add my comments to the pictures.

Sometimes we have to wait till the next day hoping the internet will be faster 

to load the pics onto the blog. Christian has been a great help with the blog. 

Next day Tammy, Christian and I worked on the yard

 in front of the outside kitchen of the bodega.

Tammy would like to see more flowers like this one in front of the sink. She would love to

have flowers all around the front of the outside sink to look at while washing dishes.

She does have herbs in the garden area. She would like to have some near the kitchen.

It will be a nice place for flowers. A pretty area of flowers for the lady of the house.

Spent the afternoon working on the panties.

End of days 14 and 15 of my trek in Costa Rica. There is always something to do on the farm.

 I love the view of the mountains and green lush everywhere.

 It is absolutely beautiful out here on the mountain.

Riding through the Mountain...

Hola!

This is Monday, the 13^th day of my trek in Costa Rica.

 

This morning Tammy taught me how to make laundry soap. 

I hope to make this at home in NJ (states). I am allergic to perfume that is

 used in the laundry soap in the stores. So this way I can make my own soap 

with lavender scent… I love the smell of lavender. Sweet!

Tammy also taught me how to make butter. People here in Costa Rica do not

 have butter easily available in this country. Tammy is blessed to have cows' milk

 to make her own butter. Tammy started teaching her neighbors that have

 cows to make butter. The neighbors loves having butter in their homes.

In fact, one neighbor used buttermilk to make white cream sauce. Great idea!

  This afternoon I helped brush down the horses to get ready to go horseback riding.

Christopher calming the horse down. The horse got scared because the chicken had pecked at his feet. Horses do not like the chickens pecking at their feet. They get quite upset over it.

 I just learned that they have lots of land on this mountain.

We are riding along the property. Their property lines go along the national reserves.

 It's very beautiful out here in the field.

We turned around and started heading back to the house. 

We were quite far from the house in the field. The horse I was riding suddenly bent

 his front legs and rolled onto his side laying on top of me. 

I was like, “What is happening here??” 

The weight of the horse was weighing down on my leg/ankle and started to hurt me,

 I kinda yelled, “Tammy!!” Tammy turned around and was in a shock 

asking Christopher, “What just happened!!!” Christopher was behind me looking at

 Tammy in shock not knowing what just happened. Tammy came to me trying to pull 

me out from underneath the horse and Christopher getting the horse to get up onto it's feet. 

We were all in shock. The horse had never done that before. Bewilderment to all of us!

Tammy decided that I get on her horse and she took the reins and walked 

all the way back to the house. Remember that we were far from the house.

 It was a long walk for Tammy. Christopher took my horse and galloped all the 

way back to the backyard. When we got home, we talked about what happened.

 Christopher thinks the horse did it on purpose just to get me off of him in a gentle way. 

If he was mean, he would've bucked me off. But no, he actually did it in a gentle way. 

Stubborn but nice horse. Tammy said, “That is enough adventure for you Jen for the day.”

 I relaxed for the rest of the day.

This was my biggest adventure of the day here in Costa Rica. I know more will come.

 Never a dull moment here on the farm. Something is always happening around here!
